We're happy and excited that you're considering visiting United Parish. We know that walking into a new church for the first time can feel strange and even intimidating, especially if you are new to the Bottineau area and are not yet connected with the community. We hope that this information will help answer some of your questions before you walk through our door. We may not have met yet, but we're already welcoming you.
Where is the church located?
Here is a map to the church location.
When are services held?
Our worship services begin at 10:00am year-round. We have Fellowship at 9:00am and Sunday school for children at 9:00am (during the school-year). Check our calendar for a full list of events or call our church office at 701-228-2800.
What are the sermons like?
Our sermons are bible-centered following the Revised Common Lectionary.
What about the music?
We sing a rich mix of traditional and contemporary hymns, accompanied by our talented organist and pianists.
Is there something for kids to do?
You bet! We welcome children and youth to be a part of the worship service so that they can participate in singing and learn from adults in worship. During worship there is a time with the children were the pastor will share the sermon nugget just for them. For young children we have worship bags filled with fun activities. These bags are available from the ushers in the entry hall of the church. A crying room for infants is also available. If you want to learn more about our awesome Christian Education program, contact Pastor Boe at email@example.com or call our church office at 701-228-2800.
Will I be singled out?
No, we want you to be comfortable at United Parish. We won't single you out, ask you to stand up and announce yourself or have your life-story scrutinized. We want to get to know you on a personal level. We hope that you'll shake a hand or return a smile during the fellowship time before worship begins, but if you're feeling shy, that's okay.
What should I wear?
You will see everything from jeans and t-shirts to Sunday dresses and jackets in our pews. It's the fabric of the soul that God looks upon, so dress up in your Sunday best if you like or simply come as you are.
Where is everything?
Worship takes place in the Sanctuary; this is the main level of the church. Restrooms are located just off of the foyer of the church. Before services there's coffee hour in the Fellowship Hall, just off the north entry hall. On the lower level are children's classrooms and the nursery for infants and toddlers too young to attend Sunday School.
